our practice

Dr McKillip and our entire team of staff are committed to health, well being, and providing a superior level of pediatric care to Woodlands area children. We offer compassionate sick and well child appointments from birth through age 18. Our mission is “Happy, Healthy Children – All Of The Time,” and we remain completely dedicated to our community in fulfilling this top priority.
Newborn Care

For our very youngest of patients, we realize that attention to detail and easing parental concerns are of utmost importance. Newborns are precious, sweet, and hitting developmental milestones everyday. They are also quite vulnerable. Our highly qualified pediatric staff knows how important it is to you to know that your baby is healthy and on schedule with their growth development. Dr. McKillip and her team of staff provide well baby exams and newborn care recommendations to ensure that your child is showing healthy advancements developmentally and physically.

Sick Child Visits

As parents ourselves, we know how stressful it can be when your child is not feeling well. After becoming a patient of record, you will have quick & easy access to schedule a sick child visit with our practice. In fact, we are normally able to provide same day sick visit appointments for all established patients who contact us before 11:00 AM.

We Believe In Prevention

For children of all ages, we follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics and believe that childhood checkups and immunizations provide the very best method for monitoring a child’s health and preventing serious disease and illness. We also administer all vaccines according to the Recommendations of the Center for Disease Control & Prevention. To be sure your child is up to date, see the CDC schedules. A catch-up schedule is available for missed vaccines.

Become A Patient

Our office is currently accepting new patients, and we would be honored to become your family’s pediatric practice of choice. Parents in The Woodlands area have trusted the healthcare needs of their children to Dr. McKillip for nearly three decades, and we hope you will as well. For any questions or to schedule an appointment, please feel free to contact us.

No time to arrive early for paperwork? No problem! Since we realize parents are busy, we’ve made our forms available for you online. Please simply complete the following forms at your convenience and bring them along to your appointment. If you do not already have Adobe Reader installed on your Computer, you may click on the link to download it free of charge.

Print & Complete

We want for every visit to our office to be a positive experience for both the parent and the child. In our efforts to offer the highest quality of care and keep the office running smoothly, we have implemented the following policies.

Prescription Refills

All prescription refill requests should be made during normal business hours. ADHD medications refills will be available for pickup within 1 week of the request.

Cancellation Policy

If necessary, we ask that you make every effort to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Last minute cancellations limit our ability to schedule patients and waste a time slot that another patient may have needed. Since we do understand that an emergency can occasionally arise, we ask that you let us know if this happens. A $25 fee is normally charged for a well visit or sick visit “no show.” This fee increases to $50 for “no show” behavioral or medication consult.

Patient Responsibilities

We ask that you please come on time and be prepared for all appointments. If you are running a few minutes late, please simply give us a call. This helps us to ensure that all patients are seen in a timely manner. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may have to require that your appointment is rescheduled.

Please also bring all camp physical and sports physical forms to the check-up appointment. There will be a $10 charge to complete any forms not done during the scheduled office visit.

After Hours Care

If you have an emergency after hours, your call will be answered by experienced pediatric triage nurses. For medical situations that cannot be handled by the triage nurse, the on-call Physician will be paged. A $20 fee will be charged for non-emergency calls afterhours.

Our Opinion on Vaccines

We believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives. We believe that vaccines are safe for our patients and that all children and adults should receive vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics. We believe that based on all available literature, evidence, and current studies, that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities. We believe that vaccinating children and young adults may be the single most important health promoting intervention that we perform as health care providers and that you perform as parents/caregivers. The recommended vaccines are the result of years of scientific study and research, with data gathered on millions of children by thousands of our brightest scientists and physicians.

We also realize and respect that parents have concerns about the safety and number of vaccines. We will do our best to put your fears to rest and answer your questions with scientific based information. If you plan on refusing, or have chosen to refuse, vaccinating your child, we are not the right office for you. As medical professionals, we feel strongly that vaccinating children on schedule with the currently available vaccines is absolutely the right thing to do for all children and young adults unless medically contraindicated.

Symptom Checker

One of the greatest challenges of being a parent is knowing what to do when your child isn’t feeling well. If you think your little one may be sick and need to know how to care for them and when medical attention is necessary, Healthy Children’s Symptom Checker can be a big help!
